Setting IE to automatically load the STI Home Page and setting up Outlook Express:

STI Home Page Setup

1. After IE starts click on View at the top of the screen.
2. When the drop down menu appears click on Internet Options. The following screen will appear:



3. The General Folder will be open. Under the heading Home page in the box titled Address: type http://www.sierratel.com
4. Now check the connection you are going to use. Click on the Connection tab at the top of the window. The following screen will appear:



5. Under the heading Connection make sure the title Connect to the Internet using a modem has been selected.
6. Click on the Settings button on the right. The following window will appear:



7. In the box at the top of the window under the heading Use the following Dial-Up Networking select the dialer you will use to contact STI. If you have created a dialer, use the down arrow button on the right and you will see the dialer, then click on that name and it will be put in the box.
8. In the box titled User: type your username.
9. In the box titled: Password: type your password.
10. Click on the box OK to close window.
11. Click on the box OK to close window.

Outlook Express Email Setup

1. When IE has been started at top of screen click on View, when the pull down menu displays, click on Internet Options. The following screen will appear:



2. At the top of the window click on the tab Programs. The following screen will appear:



3. Under the heading Messaging, in the box titled Mail: select Outlook Express, you can use the down arrow button on the right to select Outlook Express.
4. Under the heading Messaging, in the box titled News: select Outlook Express, you can use the down arrow button on the right to select Outlook Express.
5. The remaining windows are options you can decide whether to use or change.
6. Click on the OK box at the bottom to close window.
7. At the top the screen for Internet Explorer click on the header GO, the drop down menu will appear, then click on Mail, Outlook Express will start. The following screen will appear:



8. At the top of the window click on Tools. The drop down menu will appear. Click on Accounts and the following window will appear:



9. Click on the Add button on the right, a small menu window will appear. Click on Mail and the following window will appear:



10. In the box titled Display name: type your name, or family name, or business, etc.
11. Click on the button Next and the following window will appear:



12. In the box labeled Email address: type your STI email address.
13. Then click the Next button and the following window will appear:



14. In the box My incoming mail server is a select POP3, you can click on the down arrow to select this.
15. Then in the box titled Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: type mail.sti.net
16. Then in the box titled Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: type mail.sti.net
17. Then click the Next box and the following screen will appear:



18. Make sure the selection Log on using has been selected, and in the box POP account name: type your username.
19. In the Password box type your password.
20. Click on the Next button and the following window appears:



21. In the box titled Internet mail account name: you can leave it as mail.sti.net or change the name to another mail server address you use.
22. Then click on the Next box and the following window appears:



23. Click on the first selection titled Connect using my phone line
24. Then click on the box Next on the bottom of the window and the following window appears:



25. You should select Use an existing dial- up connection, do this by clicking on the little circle. Then in the large box click once to highlight STI.
26. Then click on the Next box at the bottom of the screen and the following window will appears:



27. Click on the Finish box at the bottom of the window.
28. You are now ready to use Outlook Express for email!
